Reserving the Library

In the spirit of maintaining a fun, fair, and equitable community space, patrons who want exclusive, private use of the library for a particular purpose (ex: a meeting) must reserve the space in advance via Calendly. Please note the following guidelines:

1. Reservations are limited to a maximum of 30 minutes
2. Patrons may schedule no more than one slot in a single day
3. Patrons are limited to a maximum of three slots per week
4. Reservations will not be accepted more than one week in advance
   • Any reservations scheduled more than one week in advance will be canceled
5. Patrons can make reservations up to 30 minutes before their selected time slot
6. Patrons already enjoying the space will not be asked to leave to accommodate other patrons without a reservation

Every week, Q staff will post the library’s schedule on the door and will update it as new reservations come in. The library also has a publicly viewable Google Calendar that you can check at any time. If you are in space and would like to reserve the library, please use the posted QR code, or ask Q Center staff for assistance.

Using the Library Space

Like all Q Center resources, we ask that everyone respect the library as a shared space and do their part to make sure it’s in good condition for the whole community. Whether you’re reserving the lounge for private use or just hanging out, please keep the following in mind:

1. Keep it clean: You’re welcome to do work or have a snack anywhere in the Q, but make sure you’re picking up any trash or waste and disposing of it properly.
2. Keep it orderly: If you move the coffee table or pull out the extra chairs, be sure to put them back before you leave.
   • If you need help lifting the chairs or restacking them, please let us know.
3. Keep it open: Don’t close the library door or prevent others from using the space unless you reserve the room per the procedure outlined above.
   • Exclusionary or discriminatory attitudes/behavior will not be tolerated.
4. Keep it together: The Q has lots of games that we hope you have some fun with! Don’t forget to put all the pieces back in the box and put the game back where you found it when you’re finished.
5. Keep it in mind: Take note of any signage in the library and follow all posted instructions.
   • Keep an eye on the notice board for any changes or updates.
   • If you remove an item from the shelves, please do not reshelve it yourself! Place it on the book cart marked “Returns” for the librarian.
   • Minor children under the age of 13 should never be left unattended in the library or the Q Center.
