Call for Abstracts: Automated Vehicles Symposium 2018

Organizers of the 2018 Automated Vehicles Symposium (July 9-12 in San Francisco) are welcoming structured abstracts on topics related to the energy and emissions impacts of connected & automated vehicles (CAVs). Accepted speakers will be invited to present their work in a breakout session sponsored by the Transportation Research Board’s Standing Committee on Transportation Energy and Subcommittee on the Energy and Demand Implications of Connected & Automated Vehicles. Energy & emissions topics can range in scope from the vehicle-level to the system-wide perspective and include but are not limited to the following themes:

• Advances in enabling technologies for altruistic energy-efficient mobility systems
• Innovations in propulsion system, vehicle, and infrastructure design for CAVs
• Identification of baseline and transient energy and emissions profiles of CAVs
• Implications of market adoption and consumer acceptance on energy and emissions of CAVs
• Policy considerations for CAVs energy usage and emissions mitigation strategies.
