Bio

Moein is a PhD candidate in the Sustainable Transportation Lab. He started his doctoral program at the University of Washington after achieving a Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering from Amir Kabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), Iran. His research interests lie in the travel behavior area and travel demand forecasting for emerging technologies such as autonomous vehicles, new mobility services (e.g. ride-hailing), and electric vehicles. He has experience conducting research in the mentioned areas for Toyota, Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), and the Pacific Northwest Transportation Consortium (PacTrans). Currently, he is working on the Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP 2), sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), which was created to find strategic solutions to three national transportation challenges: improving highway safety, reducing congestion, and improving methods for renewing roads and bridges. At the same time, Moein is engaged in research for the U.S.-China Clean Energy Research Center (CERC) sponsored by the Department of Energy (DOE).
