Corkery Endowment Travel Award

READ FULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION

The Corkery Endowment Travel Award provides funding for travel to and registration at a national or international meeting of an appropriate professional society for physicians in fellowships or secondary training in specialties caring for children. Funds are intended to supplement or provide travel funding when no or insufficient funding is available from the department or division, grants, or other sources.

To be eligible, the applicant must be a current fellow or subspecialty resident who is in a pediatric or pediatric-related training program of the University of Washington School of Medicine and Seattle Children’s Hospital. Persons holding acting instructor/junior faculty positions are not eligible, nor are individuals without MD or DO degrees.

Only fellows or sub-specialty residents who are presenting an abstract at a national or international meeting should apply for the award.  Abstracts should be submitted for presentation before completing the travel award application.

Further consideration is given to applicants from programs that have not received an award this academic year.

The maximum award amount for AY24-25 is $1,500.  A trainee may only receive one award per academic year.  Each program is eligible to receive a maximum of two awards per academic year.

Recipients will have their expenses reimbursed by the Endowment.

Starting July 1, 2024, the Corkery Endowment Review Committee will review applications every four months, after the deadlines listed below.
