We are excited to welcome Erika Bailey to the UW Tacoma Library team as our new Data and Digital Scholarship Librarian and the subject librarian for business and urban studies. Erika brings a wealth of student centered and digitally focused experience, and we can’t wait to see where she takes this new role.

As our campus’s first Data and Digital Scholarship librarian, she looks forward to working with students, faculty, and the community on innovative research and scholarship. Erika previously worked at the Research Commons at UW Seattle and at Seattle Central College, where she led projects on digital storytelling, communication and outreach, and developing a recreational reading collection. She holds an MLIS from the University of Washington Information School.

Before pursuing a career in Library Science, Erika worked in independent schools and was a member of Washington Ensemble Theatre, a fringe theatre company in Seattle. She is interested in digital storytelling, critical pedagogy, and data ethics.

Erika is available for consultations on digital projects; research data management; Digital Commons; and library instruction. She looks forward to connecting with colleagues across campus, you can reach her at erikaab(at)uw.edu.
