UW Tacoma Library Interim Closure

All UW Libraries will be closed from

Saturday, December 18, 2021 until Sunday, January 2, 2022

Why is the UWT Library going to be closed?
We’ve been looking at data from before the pandemic and found that these weeks have been consistently among the lowest in terms of visits to the library and circulation of materials throughout the calendar year. This is also a time of the year that many of our staff will not be working because of annual leave. Many of our student assistants will be taking a well-earned break, too!

Will you still have curbside checkout over the break?
Yes! But please plan for our service for holds to be slower than usual due to delivery drivers from Seattle and Bothell also taking well-earned time off over the break. Curbside checkout will be available during the interim Monday through Thursday from 10am – 4pm. You will be able to check out materials as well as check out or return laptops. To schedule a pick-up time for your items, simply follow the directions on our UW Tacoma Library Curbside website.

Don’t worry! Your UWT Library has even more resources available to you over the winter break! You can:
•  Chat with a librarian live anytime, 24/7 through our Ask A Librarian service.
•
Schedule an online Zoom appointment with a librarian.
•
Take advantage of our electronic resources like eBooks, including our more than 650 library databases.
•
Visit the University Y! It will be open, but will have a Holiday Hours schedule.
•
Find the most up-to-date information about campus building access while the UWT Library is closed.

We would like to hear from you to see how our winter library closure affects you!
Please take a moment to complete our two-question survey. It is completely anonymous and should take less than 5 minutes of your time. Your feedback is very important to us!

And good news! Research Help is back on the second floor of the Tioga Library Building (TLB2) starting Winter Quarter 2022. Stay tuned for more information!
