Do you love creating videos and UW Tacoma library? Well now’s your chance to express that love and creativity to win up to $1,500!

The annual #IHeartUWLibraries Student Video Contest is here. This contest is an opportunity to promote the best parts of UW Libraries’ people, places, resources, and programs to your fellow students and the UW community at large. Think about the ways you interact with the library, the tools and resources you use. Now with all the changes to the UW Tacoma Library in SNO and TLB, there are new spaces to film in and explore as well! What do you ❤️ about UW Tacoma Library?

 Awards:

Long Form video (Video submission 45-60 seconds)*

• $1500 1st Place
• $1000 2nd Place
• $500 3rd Place

Short Form TikTok video (up to 30 seconds)

• $300 1st Place
• $100 2nd Place
• $50 3rd Place

*you can use any video creation platform to create a video, including Tik Tok for this category. See submission instructions and tools for how to upload/submit.

         Need inspiration? Check these ideas out:

• The Libraries mission, vision, values
• Profile of a librarian who made a difference in your academic career/ supported your research/helped with a special project.
• Profile of a faculty member, how they have used the libraries to further their research, teaching and learning
• The tools and resources available to you through the libraries: the ability to check out text books, computer and tech resources, classes, workshops and more
• The many safe spaces for individual and group study.
• Access to help and resources anytime, anywhere!
• The importance of special collections and access to important cultural and historical primary sources.
• A combination of all of the above!
• Check out submissions from past contests, including the 2021 winner, and the 2019 winner (UW Tacoma!)
