ANR Group Inc. is a recruiting company based in Richland, Washington. They have contracts with the Department of Energy – Richland Operations Office (DOE), Mission Support Alliance (MSA), Washington Closure Hanford (WCH), and Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) to recruit students for their summer intern programs on the Department of Energy site (Hanford site) in Richland, WA.

Quick Overview: 

  • Minimum Requirements: 18 or older, currently enrolled in college as a full-time student during the two quarters/semesters immediately preceding the start of the internship, completed at least 2 quarters/semesters of college education prior to the internship, maintain at least a 2.5 GPA
  • Time Frame: 10-12 Weeks
  • Pay Rate: Varies based on the company you’re assigned to, your major, you class standing, GPA, and previous work experience

These intern programs allow students to obtain real world experience in their field of study,and each intern is assigned a mentor that works with the student during the entire internship. In addition to gaining valuable experience, the interns are paid for the hours they work.

These companies are responsible for clean-up activities on the Hanford site (watch a video on Hanford). DOE oversees the projects associated with cleaning up the reactors, soil, groundwater, solid waste burial sites, and also manages the demolition of facilities, and the disposition of the remaining plutonium left on the site. MSA is responsible for services such as safeguards and security, environmentla integration, site infrastructure and utilities, site business management, informaiton resources and content management and portfolio management. WCH is responsible for remediation and restoration includign decommissioning and demolition of ubildings and gorund water remediation. WRPS is responsible for developing new systems and technology that will help remove waste and sludge form old storage tanks.
