collage-1.0-page-001.jpgLeadership Firesides offer ongoing opportunities for students to engage in meaningful dialogue with a diverse range of civic, corporate and campus leaders in an informal setting. These leaders share their personal journeys and perspectives on leadership and become momentary mentors for students attending the event. The Firesides are a way for students to learn more about and reflect on leadership and build their leadership competence and confidence. The 2015-2016 Leadership Firesides series is focused on stories of resilience. Learn more here.

The next speaker is Deena Pierott, who has been an entrepreneur in many ways–but possibly is most well-known for founding iUrban Teen, an organization dedicated to expose male youth of color to the STEM fields. Deena was recently recognized by the White House as a Champion of Change for this program. While her program is most targeted at African American and Latino males, the program is inclusive of all youth. More information about Ms. Pierott can be found here.
