Job Opportunity On Campus with the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network

The Pacific Northwest Seismic Network, located on the first floor of the Atmospheric Sciences building (ATG) on UW Seattle campus is seeking a motivated individual to work with the field engineering team. This position involves seismic equipment maintenance, testing, deployment and monitoring: from hands on work to documentation of configurations and networking architecture.

The Pacific Northwest Seismic Network is the regional seismic network for Washington and Oregon and maintains 400+ seismic stations in the region. As such, there is a lot of electronics shop work, field work, and data work that needs to be done to install new stations and maintain and monitor current stations.

Desired skills (They can teach as needed)

Computer Science knowledge; familiarity with multimeter and basic electronics; familiarity with circuit diagrams; familiarity with CAD software and schematics; basic earth science understanding; willingness to work outdoors; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
