Hello CEE Majors – We hope you are feeling settled into winter quarter. As always, we are here for you if you want to discuss your academic plan/degree requirements, talk about how to get involved outside of the classroom, discuss academic successes or difficulties, or simply just to say hello/meet your advisers.
In addition, here are some important reminders and notices we’d like you to take a look at:
Career Fair Prep
- The 15th Annual CEE Career Fair is taking place on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 1-4pm.
- We will be sending out detailed registration and prep info by the end of the week but the UW Career & Internship Center has a number of workshops starting today that can help you prepare.
- We recommend that you touch base with your instructors if you have a synchronous class that might CEE Career Fair. Your CEE Faculty/Instructors have been notified of the potential for class conflicts but letting them know directly once you have your appointments scheduled is recommended.
Graduation Reminders:
- Refresh your degree audit: Now that your WIN21 schedule is set, make sure to refresh your degree audit. If there is anything that looks off, or you have questions, you can email ceadvice@uw.edu or see an adviser.
- If you are planning to finish your degree requirements in WIN21, SPR21 or SUM21, and have not applied to graduate, please email ceadvice@uw.edu so we can start this process.
College of Engineering Mentorship Opportunity – EPE Program
The College of Engineering’s Engineering Peer Educator (EPE) program is a fantastic opportunity for current engineering undergraduates to gain valuable leadership experience while helping the 2021 incoming class of Engineering Undeclared students succeed in transitioning to college! EPEs mentor and support first-year students by facilitating the GEN ST 199 component of Engineering FIGs in Autumn 2021. Undergraduate students with skills in collaboration and interpersonal communication who are passionate about giving back to the engineering community are encouraged to apply!
S/NS Grading Option
You will have the option to change your grade to S/NS for AUT20 after the Nov 17th deadline since AUT20 has been designated as an “Extraordinary Circumstances Quarter.”
Information on this process and policy can be found at this link. Look for the heading “Extraordinary Circumstances Quarter S/NS-Numeric Grading Change Request.”
Additional Writing Requirement
Information on how to satisfy your additional writing requirement can be found on our CEE Student News Blog here. If you are trying to create a “W by arrangement,” we recommend trying to contact an instructor prior to the beginning of the quarter (For WIN21, it would be a good idea to connect now).
