We just heard from a long-time construction industry contact (Alison Baker) that her company (Flatiron) is looking for summer interns. We will get a jump on the CEE career fair by letting you know that now. Internships are available in a few areas that Flatiron services:

Flatiron is a heavy civil contractor with a HQ in Colorado, but with a local office in Renton, WA as well as many other offices in California, western Canada, Texas, North Carolina, and New York (dba EE Cruz). They built the west approach bridge north for the SR 520 bridge (the north side of SR 520 on the UW side of the floating bridge), widened 17 miles of I-405, and more. Amy Moore, and 2018 graduate of our department works for Flatiron on their Georgetown Wet Weather Treatment Station ((a $100 million project) and got that job by interning with them between her junior and senior year on the SR 520 project.
