Summer 2023 internships for students in hydraulics, hydrology and water quality with Seattle District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, has two summer hire opportunities for current students. The Hydrology, Hydraulics, and Coastal Engineering Branch is made up of water resources professionals providing engineering solutions to the Pacific Northwest and the nation. Additional information on our responsibilities and working groups is attached. We are hiring the following student positions for this summer:

Civil Engineer:

You will be involved in the full range of water resources engineering work at Seattle District, USACE, both in the office and in the field. You will support project teams from the Water Management, Hydrology, and Hydraulic Engineering Sections as well as the Coastal Engineering Unit. See attached for a description of the project types and teams. This position is open to current civil engineering students at the undergraduate, graduate, or doctorate level.

Water Quality Engineer/Scientist:

You will assist with the District Water Quality Program, monitoring the state of water quality (organic, inorganic, dissolved gas parameters, etc.) in Corps-operated reservoirs and associated rivers, as well as analyzing the impacts of dam and reservoir operations on water quality. You will assist the water quality specialists and field technicians with in-office water quality work (data analysis, data entry, documentation, literature research, reporting) and field work. The field work will generally be at reservoir and river sites for water sampling or instrumentation operation and maintenance. This position is open to current civil engineering, environmental engineering, physical science, or biology students at the undergraduate, graduate, or doctorate level.
