Hello,
The UW Science and Engineering Business Association (SEBA) is launching a new mentorship program for the upcoming fall quarter and is currently accepting applications for mentors and mentees!
SEBA is a student-led 501(c)(6) non-profit organization founded in 2000 and is a registered student organization at the University of Washington. Our mission is to provide professional development and career opportunities to science & engineering students through education, networking, and practical experience.
The goal of this mentorship program is to connect students with professionals and upperclassmen who can help guide them towards their academic and career goals. Mentors will work together with their mentees on a project, self-created, with the goal of finishing it by the end of the quarter. Mentors will commit to a schedule with their mentees, ideally meetings at least twice a month. A project we recommend for some students is to create a roadmap which students can use to help keep track of their goals and milestones, which may include placing into a major or securing an internship.
We are looking for dedicated mentors who would be willing to allocate at least 2-5 hours a month. Mentors will meet one-on-one, virtually, with their mentees, getting to know each other and working together on the project of their choosing.
If you are interested, please fill out one of the google forms at the bottom, and if you have any questions, please direct them to mentorship@uwseba.org. Applications are due by Friday, Oct. 9th.
