Graduation Ceremony

After the entrance procession, graduates will be seated in front of the stage for the welcome message, land acknowledgment, speakers, and performances. During the ceremony, graduates will cross in front of the stage to receive a lavender honor cord and a Lavender Graduation certificate.

Photography

A professional photographer will take a photo of each graduate with their honor cord and certificate after they walk during the graduation ceremony. Graduates will be permitted to remove their masks for their photo.

Photos will be taken throughout the event that may be used in future Q Center communications and marketing materials. No-photo badges will be provided for any attendee who does not wish to have their photo taken during the event.

Food & Refreshment

Dinner will be served by catering staff on disposable plates and utensils. If you have severe food allergies or dietary restrictions and did not indicate them in your registration, please email your request to qcenter@uw.edu with the subject line “Lav Grad Food” by May 30th, 2024

Indoors, tables will be set up for eating in small groups. Guests will be permitted to remove their masks to eat and drink. Outdoor dining space will be provided for guests who prefer not to be unmasked in a closed space. Small tables will be set up under canopies outside. Heaters will be available as needed.

Accessibility

ASL interpretation and live captioning will be available for the duration of the Lavender Graduation ceremony.

For attendees who are sensitive to chemical or fragrance allergens, there will be a designated low-fragrance table located near the stage. The Q Center cannot guarantee a chemical or fragrance-allergens-free environment, but we will strive to accommodate these needs wherever possible.
