Graduate Event Information Page

Hello Lavender Graduates!

Lavender Graduation is fast approaching, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you! Please read this webpage for important information and reminders about the event. Detailed event information is also available on the general information page anytime. If you have any questions or concerns, email us at qcenter@uw.edu with the subject line “Lav Grad”!

Important Reminders

GUESTS: We still have open seats for guests! Register your additional guests with THIS LINK. All attendees including UW students, staff, and faculty MUST REGISTER via Eventbrite individually and under their own name. Anyone who has not completed an Eventbrite registration will not be admitted to the event space. There will be no exceptions.

PHOTOGRAPHY RELEASE: Please complete our PHOTOGRAPHY RELEASE FORM as soon as possible! Photos will be taken throughout the event that may be used in future Q Center communications and marketing materials. No-photo badges will be provided for any attendee who does not wish to have their photo taken during the event.

IDENTIFICATION: Bring your Husky ID and your Eventbrite ticket (printed or digital). Event staff will need both your Husky ID and your Eventbrite ticket to confirm that you are a UW student, and are officially registered for the event.

SEATING: Graduates will be seated at the front of the hall in alphabetical order. To ensure everyone’s names are called in the correct order, please DO NOT change seats with other graduates when you arrive. Your seat will be designated for you by a card with your name and the email address you used to register for the event. Keep this card with you when you walk!

Graduation Ceremony

Graduates will be seated in front of the stage for the welcome message, land acknowledgment, speakers, and performances. During the ceremony, graduates will cross in front of the stage to receive a lavender honor cord and a Lavender Graduation certificate.

Your Lavender Graduation gift will be under your seat. You will be returning to your seat after you walk, so you do not have to carry it with you during the ceremony!

Your Graduate Photo

A professional photographer will take a photo of each graduate with their honor cord and certificate after they walk during the graduation ceremony. Graduates will be permitted to remove their masks for their photo.

The card used to designate your seat in the hall will be your photo card. Carry this card with you when you walk during the ceremony and hand it to the photographer when your graduate photo is taken. We will use this card to identify your photo and send it to you after the event.
