Bio
Steffen earned his Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering in 2023. His research focused on forecasting the infrastructure needs for electric cars and aircraft in Washington. Originally from Germany, he previously completed a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Physics, with coursework and research on environmental and atmospheric topics like ozone-depleting substances.
Steffen is most passionate about creating solutions that address the urgency and scale of the transition to a carbon-neutral world. As a member of the Graduate Student Steering Committee (P-GraSC) of the UW’s Program on Climate Change, he was an engaged contributor helping to address this impending issue by fostering engagement with university and public stakeholders.

Following graduation, Steffen began working at DKS Associates, a transportation consultancy with a strong EV infrastructure practice.
