Happy Earth Day, Huskies!!

Hopefully, you get to enjoy outside this Earth day for yet another day of beautiful weather. We’ve been on a roll as of late with the sunny skies and with it, the winds will be kicking up a little as was seen last week. Progressing through this impending midterm week, we’re expecting to inch towards more inches of rainfall. Tomorrow, additional to it being warmer, our Seattle cloud coverage will start to revisit making way for some showers to develop around Wednesday.

To whom do we owe thanks for this Earth Day’s magnificent weather? Why, the motions of EARTH’s upper atmosphere, of course! We’re currently sitting downstream of an upper level ridge, which will traverse the region tonight and give way to a broad trough by Wednesday into the rest of the week. One more warm day is in the works tomorrow before we really feel the trough’s influence with precipitation and cooling temperatures starting mid-week.

Speaking of later in the week, Friday is looking quite rainy for the Seattle area. Light rain will begin on Thursday and increasing going into Friday. With around 0.73 inches in Seattle and 0.84 inches in Tacoma accumulating over the week, we’re truly in a northwest spring. Current projects for the weekend are looking soggy as well, so get out their and enjoy the UV while it lasts!

Other fun news for this week, it’s Earth Day today and this years theme is Planet Vs. Plastic, all about beating the use of plastic in our daily lives. If you can, go outside and enjoy the environment around UW this fine Monday afternoon.

Peace Out Dawgs!
