For the sixth year in a row, the UW Tacoma Library will be hosting TAC Talks,
an event that offers our students a forum to publicly share their work.
In partnership with the Teaching and Learning Center (TLC), the School of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences, and UW Tacoma graduate programs, TAC Talks is modeled after the successful Scholars’ Studio at UW Seattle. Students will present TAC Talks (short, five-minute lightning talks by UW Tacoma graduate students). The event will be held 5/23/2019, from 5-7:30 PM, in TLB 307B.
We seek examples of academic and professional work and are asking graduate students to apply to present! Faculty — please encourage your students to apply!
UW Tacoma graduate students are welcome to apply to present on an internship they are doing, a research paper they’ve written, or on other professional experiences they have pursued.
Accepted students have the option of being coached through the process of preparing their work, and receive individualized feedback on their proposal, their poster, or their PowerPoint. The theme this year is BREACHING BORDERS. These borders might be literal borders or barriers, these can be academic explorations into uncharted territories, these can be transgressions, these can be pushing past the status quo…. we welcome creativity!
To submit a proposal, please click here.
TAC Talks not only give graduate students the opportunity to inform the whole campus and local community about the exciting work coming out of UW Tacoma graduate programs, but allows them to get feedback and make professional and academic connections in a supportive, interdisciplinary environment. All presentations are recorded and deposited in UW Tacoma Digital Commons.
Grad students, please submit your proposal by 4/25 by clicking here.
