Award-Winning Author Talk with Brittney Morris

Author Talk: Brittney Morris, hosted by Real Literature Book Club.
The Center for Equity and Inclusion and the UW Tacoma Library — co-founders of Real Lit[erature]: Reading for Social Justice — are thrilled to announce an author talk NEXT TUESDAY with award-winning author Brittney Morris.
Tuesday, 10/27, 12:30-1:20 PM PST via Zoom.
Ms. Morris will talk about her novel and her writing process, and then answer questions.
Ms. Morris, so her website, is the author of SLAY, THE COST OF KNOWING, MARVEL’S SPIDER-MAN: MILES MORALES  – WINGS OF FURY, and she has written for video games including The Lost Legends of Redwall and Subnautica: Below Zero.

Set in the Pacific Northwest, SLAY is a deep dive into Black excellence and into the word of a Black Panther-inspired video game; it has been described as Ready Player One meets The Hate U Give. It examines structural inequities and is a thoughtful, timely and suspenseful treatise on the experience of Black youth in contemporary America.

She holds a BA in economics from Boston University and spends her spare time reading, playing indie video games, and enjoying the rain from her home in Philly.
