What is the SLAB?

The UW Tacoma Library Student Advisory Board (SLAB) is a student advocacy group that empowers students to be directly involved in decision making at the UW Tacoma Library. The SLAB is an integral component of the ongoing work of imagining, designing, and building a student-centered library.

What is the SLAB Mission?

The SLAB engages UW Tacoma student members in identifying, prioritizing, and pursuing collectively developed goals aimed at improving library services, spaces, and/or resources. The SLAB connects and aligns the library, larger student population, and local Tacoma community in order to effectively and equitably address existing and emerging needs.

What is the first SLAB Library Impact Project?

Please stay tuned for a blog post of a Pilot Program to provide free snacks to the community during Finals.

Interested in joining the SLAB for 2023-2024? We’ll put out calls for SLAB membership over the summer!
