Library Displays, Fall Quarter 2023
We are excited to welcome you into the UW Tacoma Library this autumn, with lots of books curated into interesting displays for you to browse and check out. See our list below for what we’ve got on offer!
Asian American and Pacific Islander Book Collection (SNO Lobby)
This display showcases some of the new titles the UW Tacoma Library purchased to align with the $2 million-dollar U.S. Department of Education AANAPISI (Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander Student Serving Institution) grant that UW Tacoma was awarded. We devoted a meaningful amount of collection budget towards supporting instruction and programming for Asian American, Native American Pacific Islanders, and individuals from low-income backgrounds.
This display in the SNO Lobby will run through November 2023, and books are available for check-out. Learn more here
Back to School (TLB Children’s Area)
This display celebrates the beginning of the new school year, featuring books about various adventures and concerns a child may encounter when starting up a new grade. We have also included books in various school subjects representing new “teachers”– art, history, literature, and math– alongside huskies enjoying those subjects! An interactive element of the paper covering the shelves that we hope you’ll decorate with drawings. Grown-ups and kids alike are welcome to take a doodle break!
This display in the TLB Children’s Area will run through Fall Quarter 2023, and books are available for check-out. Happy reading!
