USDOT Women in Transportation Internship Program

The USDOT Women In Transportation Internship Program is currently seeking civil engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, project management, construction management, business intelligence, or informatics students.The US Department of Transportation (USDOT) invites female students at UW to apply for this summer’s internship program. The purpose of the Women in Transportation Internship Program is to increase awareness of transportation-related opportunities among women, including women of color and those with disabilities. This program provides women and girls with quality educational experiences to advance their careers and help the students become the nation’s future transportation leaders and future transportation-related entrepreneurs.

Qualified female students accepted into the program will be placed in transportation related internships with state departments of transportation, transit agencies, aviation authorities, transportation related technical assistance centers, and private businesses. Students will work a total of 320 hours over the summer to eligible for a stipend of $2,500 for their work. Applicants must be female and UW students with a minimum GPA of 2.8. Preferably, students with engineering, accounting, business management coursework and/or experience.
