Learning Experiences

Rotations

  • Residents complete 12 one-month rotations, comprising the following:
    • Orientation and training (July)
    • Acute care (three 1 month experiences)
    • Ambulatory care clinic (1 month + longitudinal clinic)
    • Pharmacy administration (1 month)
    • Project (December)
    • Electives (five 1 month experiences)
  • With UW Medicine, you can take rotations at many different hospitals and clinics across the Seattle area. Please refer to our Locations page to learn more about the individual sites.

Staffing

  • Residents have an integrated service commitment of 32 hours per 4-week schedule period. These include a combination of distribution shifts in central pharmacy and evening/weekend clinical shifts.
  • Each resident will be assigned a location for that service at UWMC-ML, UWMC-NW, or HMC.
