Does your program offer early commitment?
Yes, we do! While the number of early commitment positions may vary from year to year, we historically have 1 position open for early commitment and 1 position through the Match (2 positions through the Match if we do not early commit).
How are residents selected for your program?
All candidates who have submitted a completed application by the annual deadline are considered for any open positions. Applications are reviewed by the PGY2 Critical Care Residency Committee and graded using a prespecified rubric. Candidates are then invited for an interview based on their application scores.
How many required/elective rotations does a resident do in a year?
Residents complete 10 required rotations (including an orientation and a project month) and 2 elective rotations per year.
Can I change my rotations over the course of the year?
Yes, we allow scheduling changes based on preceptor/rotation availability during the year.
What are the staffing responsibilities?
Each resident will have 6 months of staffing experience at the UWMC-ML ICU Satellite Pharmacy and 6 months of staffing at HMC which includes a combination of ED and ICU Clinical Shifts.
