What rotations are offered throughout the year?
Residents will do 7 required rotations of 2-4 weeks each:
- Fred Hutch Investigational Drug Services (IDS) I
- Fred Hutch IDS II
- Harborview IDS
- University of Washington Medical Center – Montlake IDS
- Institutional Review Board (IRB)
- Clinical Informatics
- Harborview IDS II or University of Washington Medical Center – Montlake IDS II
Residents will also have two required longitudinal rotations:
- Clinical Pharmacist in Fred Hutch Phase 1 Clinic (weekly clinic for the first half of the year)
- Institutional Review Board (monthly meeting for the second half of the year)
Residents will have 4-5 electives of 2-3 weeks each. Please refer to the sample schedule for examples.

Can I change my rotations over the course of the year?
Yes, assuming availability of the rotations.
What are the staffing responsibilities?
The first six months of staffing will be in the Fred Hutch IV room, an outpatient infusion center, typically every other weekend. The second six months will consist of one weekend shift per month and four 4-hour weekly shifts in the Fred Hutch IDS pharmacy.
What projects do residents do during their residency?
Residents will complete a longitudinal project, a writing project, and a seminar presentation. Residents will also have the opportunity to complete IDS department/quality improvement projects as they arise.
