Dear Wellness Community,
Welcome!! A new year has begun for us in the GME community. We are so happy to welcome our new trainees and families to the Seattle area and to UW GME. Take time to begin this year with starting new adventures, making connections, getting acquainted with all the sights around. As you get settled in, we want to share some of what Seattle has to offer.
Summer is here with a bang! What a couple of weeks it has been here with the unusually warm, sweltering summer. Not typical Seattle weather. As the school year ended for young people, the season for outdoor fun has begun.
July is the start of summer BBQ’s in the parks, outdoor concerts, fairs, farmer’s markets, picnics, getting together with friends and family. The mask mandates are lifted in our state and things are opening up slowly. In this issue, we share outdoor fun (movies, farm tours, farmers markets) as well as ideas for staying cool indoors.
We have a boating event planned for you and the GME Life After Residency Seminar is on the books! More information and registration info below!

What’s Cookin?!
It’s the best time of the year to enjoy cool treats. Here’s a favorite with my own spin on it. It’s called Watergate Salad or Ambrosia. Find the easy recipe here. I love this recipe during the hot summer days. It is refreshing, cool and light recipe. Marshmallows are optional (I don’t use them) but I do add nuts (chopped walnuts and almonds if you are not allergic).
Prep now and enjoy later! Lani Wall’s White Bean Salad is best after a day or two for the flavors to come together, so if you have time one day, you can still enjoy this simple recipe when you’re too busy to cook later in the week. Find the recipe here, thanks Lani!

The event will be recorded and available to stream after the event.
