Access Management

The UW Groups web service (https://groups.uw.edu) is an extremely useful and flexible tool that enables organizations at the University of Washington to define, manage and apply access control groups to systems, applications and other online resources across the university.  Some SEFS-specific applications of UW Groups include:

• controlling student, faculty and staff access to Madrona virtual desktops
• granting individual users access to shared departmental UW Office 365 email accounts and calendars
• enabling students to access faculty network file shares
• controlling user access to UW-IT paid services utilized by SEFS
• creating administrator user groups to enabling them to manage computing resources
