General information on UW Medicine Lactation Stations.  If you need lactation information at a site not listed below, please email jenjohal@uw.edu.

Harborview Medical Center
Fred Hutch Cancer Center

    • Contact Security at 206-606-1111 or security@seattlecca.org to obtain keycode access.

  • In addition to the lactation rooms listed above, the Crow’s Nest (House Staff Quarters, B650) has 1 designated lactation room (B601).
    • Access the Crow’s Nest by keypad (Contact your PA or the GME office for access if needed).
    • The lactation room is equipped with a breast pump, computer, phone and sanitation wipes.  There is a common bathroom and refrigerator in the Crow’s Nest.
  • Lockers for storage of pump/supplies are available at the SP-1111: Pavilion Ladies Locker lactation room.  Please contact Stefanie Jeppesen, Perioperative Educator at stefbarn@uw.edu in advance, or speak to the OR front desk for access to a visitor locker during your shift/rotation.
UWMC - Northwest

 

The lactation areas at UWMC-NW are as follows (new location map):

  • The original location in the MSE Nursing Unit is still available (E Wing Room 747)
  • Second Floor of the A Wing Tower in the Lab/Radiology waiting area
  • Medical Office Building hallway near the sky bridge to A Wing
  • 4th Floor Visitors Lobby A Wing Tower
  • Outpatient Medical Center (OPMC) 3rd Floor near the top of the stairs by the Sports Medicine Clinic. OPMC is an off campus building located at 10330 Meridian Ave N
  • Breast pumps are not provided.

UW Medicine East Side
VA Puget Sound
  • The Seattle VA offers both lactation rooms and lactation pods for employees, patients and visitors.
  • Lactation Rooms:
    • Building 101, 2nd Floor Room 2E80A (Open to All)
    • Building 100, 2nd Floor Room 2C101 (Employees Only)
      • Refrigerator to store expressed milk provided.  Pumps not provided.
      • Proxy card access must be requested by the employee’s Supervisor by emailing the VA Police Service at  PUG Prox Cards or calling x62899
  • Pods:
    • Building 100, 1st Floor Veterans Lobby (ADA accessible)
    • Building 100, 4th Floor Near Elevators
    • Building 101, 1st Floor Near Entrance
      • Pods provide ample seating, lighting, counter space, fold-down shelves, USB ports, and power outlets. Each pod also locks upon entry and has a dead bolt that should be engaged for added security once inside.
      • To access a pod download the free MAMAVA application. Within the app find available Lactation Pods at VA Puget Sound and obtain an entry code for the chosen Pod. Access is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
