The goals of a Pediatric Otolaryngology rotation for pediatric residents includes:

  • refining skills in physical examination of head and neck
  • understanding the subspecialists approach to common pediatric problems involving the head and neck (e.g. otitis media, chronic rhinosinusitis, and sleep disordered breathing)
  • understanding assessment and management of less common conditions involving the head and next (e.g. hearing loss, thyroid, masses, vascular anomalies)

Pediatric Otolaryngology at Seattle Children’s is comprised of a dynamic group of providers that include 9 faculty members and 5 APPs. We have general otolaryngology clinics as well as 9 subspecialty clinics including: Aerodigestive, Hearing Loss, Microtia, Craniofacial, Vascular Anomalies, Thyroid, Cochlear Implant, Sinus/Skull Base, Velopharyngeal dysfunction, and Voice. The experience can be tailored to the resident’s interests.

Pediatric residents are welcome to rotate in the ambulatory setting. The residents would be welcome to observe surgical procedures also.
