What are your identities?
First gen immigrant Indian American, wife, human and fur mom, Christian
Who are your people?
Family family family! Most of whom are on the east coast, but I wouldn’t be where I am without them. My husband Abs, my two babes Ophelia and Orson, and my doggo Boomer. I have very close friends who I consider family, both in Seattle and outside. They’re all from various aspects of my life (from when I was 5 years old to medical school to my toddler’s friends’ parents). My mentors (aka sponsors) here at SCH and other places, who have shaped my career trajectory and continue to support me.
What are you most proud of?
Balancing mom/family/personal life with work life. I’ve been able to achieve everything I’ve wanted to professionally and personally and while it has been hard at times, I feel super supported in it.
Why UW Pediatrics/Seattle Children’s?
Working in the peds ed is always fun! I love being there and everyone is supportive of my non-work life with my family. SCH is very collaborative and welcoming. The trainees are phenomenal and as much as I enjoy teaching, honestly, I learn so much from them!
What’s next?
Fitting in more sleep, planning my post-pandemic travel moves
