What are your identities?

First generation immigrant, Latinx, dog mom/dog lover, committed partner, sister, daughter, friend, auntie to my friends’ kids, adventure-seeker

Who are your people?

My family, my partner’s family, and my friends who have become family. I would be nothing without all of their unconditional love and unwavering support despite years and time zones.

What are you most proud of?

The ability to appreciate and acknowledge different perspectives, especially when those perspectives don’t match my own.

Why UW Pediatrics/Seattle Children’s?

As cliche as it sounds, the people. The energy and commitment of the incredible people here is infectious. As all institutions, we are not perfect. But we recognize that and we strive for growth and improvement every day for the benefit of our patients and for the fulfillment of the community of people who work here. D-Comm welcomed me with open arms and became my family and safe space away from home.

What’s next?

I’ll be applying to cardiology fellowship during the summer/fall of 2021! I am passionate about highlighting and strengthening CCHD screening as a simple means of decreasing inequities in care and outcomes within cardiology.
