What are your identities?
Cis-female, second generation Indian-American, Daughter, Niece, Wife, Dog-parent, Friend, Auntie to my friends’ kids, Friendly stranger, Lover of animals
Who are your people?
Family, friend-family (SCH, med school, Teach for America, college, high school crews), folks with whom I have an interesting conversation 🙂
What are you most proud of?
This one is a bit hard to answer, I don’t think about this much hmm…being a pretty decent family member and friend most days. Making my mom and uncle proud. Staying focused on health equity and culturally-competent/patient centered care.
Why UW Pediatrics/Seattle Children’s?
First and foremost, I could not imagine life without the tremendous individuals with whom I trained-they are family forever. The REACH program also holds a special place in my heart and helped me find my joy in medicine. WWAMI was unique and helped me better understand the communities that we serve. You’ll find no better combination of clinical excellence and chill vibes!
What’s next?
Health equity work ALL DAY EVERY DAY! Community advocacy projects, more immigrant and refugee health work, hopefully gang violence prevention work, and whatever interesting things come my way 🙂 oh and catching up on sleep after residency
