Elective Contact: Dr. Sara Seghezzo

The Allergy Elective offers a unique opportunity for residents to gain insight and learn basic approaches to the diagnosis and management of numerous allergic diseases, immunodeficiencies and asthma.  On this rotation, the resident will rotate to several offices in the Northwest Asthma and Allergy Network, working directly with board-certified allergist and their patients.  This offers an opportunity to observe a variety of patients and a varied approach to allergic disease evaluation.  A curriculum and objectives have been established and are available in the Pediatric Dept office.  A pre-test is done on the first day of the rotation to identify learner needs, and a post-test at the end of the rotation to evaluate what was learned.  The resident is also given an opportunity to evaluate the elective and the instructors.
