Lester Building Systems – position opening

Lester Building Systems is one of the nation’s leading manufacturers and builders of pre-engineered post-frame wood structures. Approximately 1500 Lester Buildings are constructed each year in the US between the Rocky Mountains and the East Coast. Lester Buildings are purchased for a wide variety of end uses in the agricultural, commercial, institutional and suburban/hobby markets. (See www.lesterbuildings.com for more information.)

Most Lester Buildings are sold using Improv, Lester’s custom-built Building Design, Configuration and Sales software. Improv is used to collect a customer’s building requirements, do complete structural design and detailing, compile parts into a bill of material, calculate building pricing information, and produce drawings for sales, permitting and construction. Improv is built and maintained solely by Lester personnel and is a critical component in all aspects of Lester operations from sales to construction.

Lester has been advertising for several months for an Engineering Programmer to assist with the ongoing development and maintenance of Improv and several other internal programs for engineering and manufacturing. EWB Looking for Spanish Translator for Trip to Guatemala

Engineers Without Borders, UW Student Chapter, is seeking a translator for Sept. 2015 for non-profit work in Guatemala.

EWB works in low income communities all over the globe on projects that help the community. This year we have a trip planned from Sept. 6th to 25th. During this trip we will be helping with the design and construction of a community center.

We have the team ready with the design and expertise, but we have no one proficient in Spanish to help us translate and communicate with the local construction crew during our visit there. Hence we have been looking for a native Spanish speaker to join us in Guatemala this Sept. All expenses, including travel costs, lodging, food, and health insurance will be taken care of.

If this seems like a project that you’d be interested in joining, please email me at: cyndilopez6@gmail.com.
