For ALL CEE majors~
You’re just getting settled into the autumn quarter, but the time is already upon you to start looking for your summer job or career position! October through February is the peak campus recruitment period by employers for summer jobs, internships, and career positions.
Here are some upcoming events:
- COE Science and Engineering Career Fair, Oct 28, 12-5 pm, HUB Ballroom, http://uwseba.com/career-fair-information/career-fair-students/
- CM Career Fair Nov 5, 12-4 pm, Gould Hall, http://cm.be.washington.edu/events-calendar (limited information available on this website)
- CEE Career Fair Prep Night with alumni industry reps, Jan. 13, 4:40-6:30pm, HUB 340 (Connect with employers, get feedback on your resumes, and learn how to make the best of the CEE Career Fair.)
- CEE Career Fair Jan 21, 1-4 pm, HUB South Ballroom, http://www.ce.washington.edu/students/careers.html
In addition, ASCE is sponsoring two workshops with employers to help you prepare your resume and practice interviewing. Look for announcements from ASCE.
Freshman and Sophomores should also start working on developing your resumes and go to career fairs. Don’t assume you’re not ready for an internship or CEE-related summer job. We strongly encourage students to make use of the resources and workshops offered by the UW Career Center.
Please note that summer jobs are typically just that — jobs. Do not assume that they result in “internship credits.” Engineering Co-op Internships may be arranged, if needed, through the Career Center @ Engineering Office.
