The applications for the Pacific Northwest Section of the  American Water Works Association Young Professionals Poster Competition. The conference will be located in Tacoma, WA and will be a perfect platform to gain visibility on your projects and build professional relationships.

The first place winner will be awarded registration to the AWWA Annual Conference and Exhibition (ACE) and a travel stipend to compete in the ACE Fresh Ideas Poster Competition in Washington DC.

2026 Schweiger Memorial Scholarship Fund – Applications Opening Soon!

I would like to ask for your assistance in passing along the following academic undergraduate and trade apprenticeship scholarship information to outstanding students and individuals pursuing careers in engineering and construction-related fields. Our top scholarship recipients have been awarded up to $15,000 annually. Over the last 25 years, the Schweiger Memorial Scholarship Fund has awarded over 300 scholarships totaling over $1.25 million.

Why should students apply? This scholarship provides financial assistance to help students cover their educational costs while also offering valuable networking opportunities within the construction industry.

Student Health Fee Survey Help

Hi all, In collaboration with UW Health Units on campus (UW Counseling Center, LiveWell, and Husky Health), GPSS, and the Services and Activities Fee (SAF), ASUW is seeking student feedback on an initiative to fund student health services called the Student Health Fee. You can find a PowerPoint presentation with relevant information, a QR code to their website, and a link to take the survey . The survey is due on December 13th.

EAC Tutoring Positions: 2 positions now open!

The EAC has a wonderful opportunity for our sophomore, junior, senior, and graduate Engineering students wanting to positively impact our sophomore and incoming freshmen Engineering students. We have two hourly tutor positions open for self-driven students, one exclusively for undergraduate students and the other open to either graduate or undergraduate students. In these roles, they will provide academic support, mentorship, and support the development of EAC programming.

Please share these opportunities with any students you think might be interested and encourage them to apply without delay. We will be reviewing applications as they come in.

HDR Scholarship and Internship Opportunity!

Hi all, HDR is offering an amazing scholarship and internship experience to 2 students! Requirements and more information is provided below.

HDR’s scholarship committee will grant two $10,000 scholarships to two exceptional students, preferably enrolled in a civil, structural, geotechnical, construction or other related engineering discipline associated with the transportation engineering industry. We will give preference to students with a proven interest in transportation engineering. Along with the scholarship, the student must be willing to accept a paid internship. We will determine the location of the internship by matching the interest of the student with an HDR office that offers a strong mentoring opportunity for a future transportation engineering professional. TODAY (July 1st @ 12pm): Friday Harbor Labs Autumn 2022 General Information Session

We are hosting a general information session for anyone interested in studying at Friday Harbor Labs for the coming Autumn quarter. The session will take place  Friday, July 1st from 12pm-1pm PST. We are offering two Research Apprenticeships and a 3-course field research program. All courses are at the 400 level and invite you to get your hands dirty designing your own research project!

I can answer any questions you might have regarding living and working at FHL, and our Biodiversity and Monitoring of Estuarine Ecosystems instructors, Wendel Raymond and Bob Oxborrow, have offered to discuss their course and similar field research courses. Instructors from other courses may attend as well. If you have reasons you feel like you can’t take a course up here, we will discuss financial aid options, accessibility needs, and similar topics. If you’re enthusiastic about marine sciences, we want you out here!
