About UW SWE Evening With Industry Banquet
The EWI banquet is a casual social networking opportunity coupled with a seated banquet dinner. It aims to give UW students extended access to recruiters and industry professionals to form connections on a more close-knit level. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear a keynote speech from Hang Nguyen-Grove, Chief Engineer of KC-46 Program at Boeing. She will share her experience as a woman in the STEM industry. Additionally, we will also be presenting the Outstanding Female and corporate appreciation awards at this event.
EWI has set up open networking time before and after the banquet. You can network with any company during open networking time.

SWE Career Fair (Tues, Jan 22)
The 2019 UW SWE Career Fair is happening Tuesday, January 22nd in the HUB North Ballroom. From 2:30pm to 3:00pm, the fair is only open to UW SWE members, and from 3:00pm to 6:30pm the fair is open to all UW students. We have 50 companies attending who are hiring all engineering majors for both internships and full-time positions. Engineering Switzerland – Early Fall 2019 Study Abroad
CEE Majors – Interested in Early Fall study abroad? Attend an info session about “Engineering Switzerland” — students will take EE 215 with Karl Bohringer from ECE. Students will need to have met the prerequisites for that course by the time the program starts in August.

- Spend 4 weeks living and learning at EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland during Early Fall 2019
- Take EE 215: Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering with a UW professor
- Visit the CERN Large Hadron Collider, explore the hills around the Matterhorn, and tour a Swiss watchmaking factory

The Alan R. Spence Transfer Support Fund was established to support transfer students in their educational pursuits at the University of Washington. Dr. Spence had a long career as an educational leader at several Washington state community colleges, including 24 years at Pierce College. Valuing the community college system as a place where student can begin their journey through higher education regardless of their circumstances and backgrounds, Dr. Spence worked tirelessly to ensure that institutional barriers would not impeded a student’s ability to be successful. This year, the Spence Fund will award 2-3 scholarships of $1000 each to UW students who entered as transfer students.

The NACE Puget Sound Section Scholarship was created to recognize outstanding students in the Washington area who are interested in pursuing a career in the field of science and/or engineering.
Eligibility Requirements:
* Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate Engineering or Physical Science program.
* Applicants must either have a permanent residence or attend a college/university that lies within the geographic boundaries of the NACE Puget Sound Section.
* Students enrolled in 2-year or junior colleges are eligible to apply
* 2 references submitted to be considered
* Post-doctorate students are not eligible
