PGY1 Pharmacy

Program Description

The UW Medicine PGY1 Pharmacy Residency program is an ASHP-accredited program with primary practice sites at the University of Washington Medical Center Northwest and Montlake Campuses, and Harborview Medical Center. Residents with oncology interest may complete rotations at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. The program provides twelve months of training in all aspects of advanced pharmacy practice: acute patient care, ambulatory patient care, drug policy development, and practice management. The program offers flexibility which allows the residency to be tailored to the specific goals of the individual resident. Residents select clinical rotations to meet their individual goals and interests from a wide range of inpatient and ambulatory clinic sites across the multiple practice sites. Residents gain experience in various areas of advanced pharmacy practice by working with nationally recognized pharmacy practitioners. In addition, residents develop a clinical service or research project designed to improve pharmaceutical care and participate in teaching at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy.
