Housestaff Quality and Safety Council (HQSC)

The University of Washington Housestaff Quality & Safety Committee (HQSC) is a trainee-led organization chartered under UW Graduate Medical Education and the UW Patient Safety & Quality Coordinating Committee that strives to engage trainees in the quality and safety work pursued everywhere throughout UW Medicine.

UW Network of Underrepresented Residents and Fellows (NURF)

UW Network of Underrepresented Residents and Fellows (NURF) is a resident- and fellow-run organization founded in the fall of 2010. The organization is a diverse body of residents, fellows and faculty representing all specialties. UW-NURF is sponsored by the Office of Graduate Me​dical Education (GME) and the Center for Health Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (CEDI). Our aim is to promote cultural diversity in medicine through community involvement, mentorship, professional networking and recruitment of underrepresented minorities in medicine (URiM*).

Resident and Fellow Physician Union-Northwest (RFPU-NW)

The mission of the Resident and Fellow Physician Union-Northwest is to represent and advocate for its member physicians.

Parenthood Peer Mentorship Program

The UW GME Parenthood Peer Mentorship Program is designed to foster relationships between new and experienced parents to share knowledge, support each other and improve experiences for trainee parents.

Learning Gateway Housestaff Advisory Committee

The Learning Gateway Housestaff Advisory Committee (LGHAC) is a group of residents and fellows with an interest in informing the development of eLearning courses for UW GME. Find more information or sign up here.

GME Committees

Residents and fellows may join one of several GME committees that provide oversight of our programs.  Nominations and calls for new committee members for the upcoming academic year are sent to residents and fellows in the Spring.

Lactation Advisory Board – a group of residents and fellows with an interest in providing feedback to GME on a variety of lactation and parenthood projects designed to improve the experience of parent trainees.  Sign up here.
