Description: A month spent on the Pediatric General Surger Service is designed to provide Pediatric Residents an opportunity to experience common clinical problems. The Goals are to:
- Recognize and discuss some of the ambulatory problems common to the surgical specialty
- Learn an approach to assessing these problems
- Clarify the appropriate use of imaging modalities in assessing these problems
- Develop knowledge of when a problem might be managed by the primary care doctor versus when a problem is best referred to a surgical specialist
