The Washington State Department of Transportation’s Traffic Management Center (TMC) in Shoreline is seeking incoming sophomores, juniors and early admits to the Civil & Environmental Engineering Department to join their current team of TMC Operators. We are not seeking seniors at this time unless they have plans to attend graduate school at the UW in transportation Pay starts at $16.00 per hour. Four to five positions are being filled now for the next academic year beginning as soon as September 8th, but no later than September 15th, 2014.
This position requires a minimum of 15 hours per week during the school year and 1000 hours total for each year. 1000 hours is easily reached if an intern works 15 hours a week during the school year and full-time during the summer. This position may require you to work shifts starting as early as 5:30 AM or ending as late as 7:30 PM. Work hours are scheduled around your classes.
Multiple intern positions are available. Interviews take place in More Hall starting Tuesday Sept 8 and new interns will begin training before the start of autumn quarter. Please see summary information below for more detailed information. CEE seniors are not eligible to apply.
