New Study Abroad Scholarships for STEM Majors – Applications due Jan 15, 2016

UW Study Abroad is excited to announce new scholarships for STEM majors studying abroad in the 2016-17 academic year.

The first scholarship, GO! STEMXchange, offers up to $5000 to STEM majors participating in a departmental or university-wide exchange program. Washington State residents eligible for financial aid (students do not have to be Pell Grant eligible) may apply. Visit the UW Global Opportunities website in winter quarter for more information. http://expd.uw.edu/globalopportunities/global-opportunities

The next scholarship, the Dow Chemical Foundation student exchange fund, will provide up to $5000 to UW students participating in a departmental or university-wide exchange to Asia.

Special consideration is given to STEM majors. For additional information and criteria, visit our endowed scholarships page. http://www.washington.edu/studyabroad/endowed-scholarships/

We are also excited to offer 1-2 scholarships to UW students participating in the exchange to the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. While this exchange is open to all majors, our exchanges in NZ and Australia often attract students in the sciences (fun fact: our #1 major for students studying in Australia is Biology!).

The deadline to apply to university-wide exchanges is January 15, 2016. If you have questions about scholarship eligibility or deadlines, please contact the study abroad office: studyabroad@uw.edu.
