Internship Opportunity with Pierce County Public Works

There are two open internship positions to work with a team of dedicated traffic engineering professionals with Pierce Country Public Works – Traffic Engineering. You will get a firsthand learning experience with traffic data collection, design of traffic control devices, review of plans, and traffic operations. You will work in a team environment and make contributions in these areas, in a dynamic and fast-paced organization. This internship will involve a mix of office and field work.

This internship will take place over the summer, 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, but some schedule flexibility is possible). Hourly pay rate will be discussed during the interview process.

Taiwan Summer Internship Program

This summer, National Chung Hsing University will offer a 2-week research training program for engineering students to learn about the innovative engineering culture of Taiwan. Students will gain laboratory research experience, visit with industry professionals, and take part in technical seminars. Field trips and workshops will teach students about Taiwanese culture and traditions.

Study Abroad: Landscape Architecture Croatia

Design/Build Croatia is a fall quarter program where UW students will team up with Croatian engineering students to design and build a therapeutic garden for blind and disabled adults and children as well as a design a master plan for a residential facility for disabled adults. Students do not need to have construction experience and should be interested in environmental therapeutic design, construction, and other related topics. This program is open to all engineers; both graduate and undergraduate students are welcome.
