Hello CEE Majors –
We have some important information about AUT16 registration to share with you so make sure to read through the following carefully. This is especially important for Rising Sophomores and Juniors (Those who will be Sophomores & Juniors in the 2016-17 academic year). If you have any questions, please email ceadvice@uw.edu.
Advising resources for All CEE Majors:
- The BSCE degree sheet is attached: Use this sheet to identify program prerequisites (marked with black diamonds on page 1) and use the sample 4-year plan (on page 2) to guide your academic plan.
- You will also find a lot of detailed information and helpful resources in the “2015-2016 Advising Handbook” [PDF]. (The Advising Handbook link is available on the CEE Undergraduate Student Resourceswebpage.)
Rising CEE Juniors:
- Students who will have completed all the program prerequisites by summer quarter should register for 300-level CEE courses starting in the fall.
- The 300-level CEE courses are pre-arranged for the academic year in “tracks” (Track I or Track II) as outlined in the Sample 4-year plan for CEE Juniors on the attached BSCE degree sheet.
- You have the choice to select either Track I or Track II, but once you select a track, you must stay with that track’s courses for the entire academic year. This is important in order to avoid time conflicts with required courses in future quarters.
- NOTE: When registering for CEE 317 and CEE 347 (Track II Students), please carefully read the notes listed under each lab section (see online AUT16 Time Schedule). Following these directions is important for equal enrollment distribution. (We have to closely monitor registration in CEE 317 and 347 labs so that we can maximize student enrollment and minimize time conflicts for students.)
- Enter your Track courses for the year on MyPlan (available via MyUW).
Rising CEE Sophomores:
- Continue taking program prerequisites courses as outlined in the sample 4-year plan on the attached BSCE degree sheet.
- Please note that AA 210, which is a prerequisite for CEE 220 and ME 230, is offered only in autumn and winter quarters. CEE 220 will be offered each quarter in 2016-2017, including autumn quarter.
- You should try to complete the Physics and Chemistry courses in sequence (through PHYS 123 and CHEM 152) by the end of your sophomore year, if possible, as the CEE Junior year is fully packed with required CEE 300-level courses.
- You may start on 300-level CEE courses as appropriate, if you have completed prerequisite courses, but we strongly recommend that you do so after you have consulted with a CEE Advisor.
- A Diversity course (minimum 3 credits) is required for all students who entered the UW in autumn 2014 or thereafter.
- If you are “Off-Track”, you must meet with a CEE advisor to develop an individualized graduation plan.
