The Distributed Microsystems Laboratory is seeking an undergraduate with a solid background in engineering to support the development and dissemination of new curriculum and course materials related to sustainability:
The position involves a wide range of responsibilities: including statistical analysis of survey data, coding of qualitative data, management of data, development of e-mail campaigns and mail-based dissemination materials, development of K-16 outreach exhibits and activities, web page construction, multimedia presentation development, and technical writing.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in engineering education, will be adept at speaking to people in multiple professions (including engineering and education), have strong foundational knowledge in engineering to contribute to accurate and meaningful curriculum materials, be proficient in web page construction and multimedia presentation, and have a basic understanding of statistics and Matlab programming.
This position is a research opportunity in engineering education, but can be paired with a meaningful independent study research project in any of the topics related to sustainability in electrical engineering and related fields. Here is a link to the lab’s website.
Time Commitment: The position requires a minimum of ten hours a week and extends through December 1, 2015. Hours are flexible and can be completed after regular business hours, especially during the summer. Hourly pay is competitive with other undergraduate positions in the College of Engineering.
