Join Huskies for Neurodiversity for their Activism & Neurodiversity Dinner! 🍽 

Featuring a range of neurodivergent, student panelists active in a variety of causes who will discuss their experiences with partaking in activism.

We aim to promote visibility and acceptance of neurodiverse conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and dyscalculia, among others and to foster an environment of acceptance and advocacy!

GradSWE “Applying to Graduate School Workshop”

Hello everyone,

Are you considering applying to graduate school? Do you want to learn about choosing which programs to apply to and how to prepare for the application process? 

Join us for our “Applying to Graduate School Workshop” event on May 13th from 4:30-6:00pm! 

This event is aimed towards helping undergraduate students begin to navigate the graduate school application process. We will have graduate student panelists to share their experiences and answer your questions about applying to grad school from 4:30-5:15pm, which will be followed by mingling with graduate students 5:15-6:00pm. Present Your CEE-Related Projects for Prize Money!

Hello everyone,

The ASCE UW Presentation Competition is looking for individuals/teams to present any civil engineering related topics. Capstone, club, personal, and research projects are all welcome!

The competition will be held on Thursday, May 2 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM PDT in MOR 220. Individuals/teams will be judged on a 10-minute (maximum) technical presentation and a 5-minute Q&A. Each of the top three winners will receive prize money:

First Place: $1,000

Second Place: $750

Third Place: $500

The winning individual/team will have the opportunity to present at the ASCE Seattle Section May Dinner Meeting on Wednesday, May 15.

Join us for a Spark Innovation Workshop: AI for Sustainable Aviation! This event brings UW students together for an interdisciplinary workshop with corporate leaders from Microsoft, Alaska Airlines, Boeing, the Port of Seattle, and others to ideate on sustainable aviation ideas for the future. 

Hear about problem spaces related to sustainable aviation from the corporate leaders above, then participate in ideation sessions on solutions. Students will also have the chance to participate in a Pitch Challenge at the end of the workshop with the chance to win a prize for Best Pitch! 

Solutions include hardware, software, and AI; think inside the plane (design, optimization, materials, fuel) and outside the plane (infrastructure, supply chain, and more). Continue reading

SITE TOUR: Turner Construction w/ CC@E

Hi CEE students,

Always wondered what the construction side of engineering looks like? Want to learn more about the company that renovated Husky Stadium in 2013? Join CC@E on May 22nd for a site visit with Turner Construction at one of their new projects! This is a great opportunity for all CEE students, but especially those with an interest or minor in Construction Management.

Meet Tuner Construction Engineers and get a chance to tour the brand-new tallest building in Bellevue! Ask questions and learn about day-to-day life at Turner as an engineer. Lunch will be provided during the visit.
