SPR23 CEE Capstone Preview – Q&A Session on Fri, 2/3/23

Hello CEE Majors,

The SPR23 time schedule is now live (Period I registration starts on Fri, Feb 10) so we wanted to provide you with some information about the CEE Capstones.

Each capstone provides students with the opportunity to participate in a group design project in an area of their choosing. The capstone projects are designed to simulate an engineering project you could experience in your area of emphasis.

  1. SPR23 CEE Capstone Options: We’ve outlined the SPR23 CEE capstone options below and each instructor has provided a statement providing some information on what to expect from their capstone projects. You can find these summaries on the CEE Ugrad Resources Canvas page in Files > SPR23 CEE Capstone Projects.
  2. CEE Capstone Preview Event w/ Q&A (Fri, 2/3 – 3pm – MOR 220): We will also be hosting a CEE Capstone Preview Session in More Hall on Friday, Feb 3rd.  This event will provide you with an opportunity to hear about the projects and participate in a Q&A so you can make an educated decision on your registration date.  All CEE majors are invited to attend, regardless of class standing, as you will all be doing your capstone eventually!

Engineering Academic Success Coaching for Winter 2023

Hello Engineering Students,

Hope that your quarter is going well so far!  I’m writing to let you know about a resource this term to support engineering undergraduate students: two Engineering Academic Success Coaches (ASCs) working within the College of Engineering’s Engineering Academic Center.  This is our first academic year partnership with UW Academic Support Programs, and we are extremely fortunate to have Engineering ASCs Michael and Moska as part of our team.

Engineering ASCs are able to assist other engineering undergraduates with academic success strategies, including:

  • Effective note taking and study techniques
  • Time management
  • Goal setting
  • Recovering from a difficult assessment

Each coaching session is a 1 on 1 appointment for 30 minutes, either in person, or Continue reading
