We’re thrilled to announce a brand-new degree program at Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health that combines cutting-edge data science methods with environmental health expertise: the Master of Science in Public Health in Data Science with an Environmental Health Concentration.
Even better? Thanks to a generous gift from the O. Wayne Rollins Foundation, we’re offering $30,000 guaranteed funding packages for the program’s inaugural cohort beginning in Fall 2026!
Students who submit verified and completed applications by the January 5, 2026 priority deadline and are admitted will receive:
- $25,000 tuition scholarship for full-time students
- $5,000 stipend for the required practicum

Why Environmental Health + Data Science?
This unique program prepares students to tackle one of today’s most pressing challenges: understanding how environmental exposures impact human health. Graduates will be equipped to analyze complex environmental health datasets, investigate how exposures and biology interact to influence health outcomes, and lead research and policy efforts using advanced data science methods.
Program Structure:
- 2-year (4 semester), in-person, full-time program
- 48 required credit hours
Coursework Includes:
- Data Science Skills: R Coding, Database Development, Reproducible Workflows, and Applied Machine Learning
- Environmental Health Expertise: Toxicology, Complex Environmental Exposures, The Exposome, Biological Responses in Health and Disease
- Applied Experiences at the intersection of Data Science and Environmental Health
