Dear Students,
The National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) has launched an honors program to recognize students who have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam by providing them with a free graduation cord and charm to wear over their gown during graduation. NCEES, a Greenville, SC.-based nonprofit established in 1920, estimates that more than 10,000 students nationwide who are scheduled to graduate in May have already passed the six-hour exam. The FE exam material ties closely to subjects taught in their undergraduate engineering program. Typically, students take the FE exam as close to graduation as possible. Passing the FE exam is the first step to becoming a professionally licensed engineer, which also requires work experience and passing another exam.
